The Visitor Information Centre organises regular town tours and specialised tours, which are carried out by CTGA members.
One of the best ways to find out more about the dramatic events that have taken place in Colchester is to join one of the regular guided walking tours of the town. These From Camulodunum to Colchester tours run on many Saturdays at 11am, and start from the Visitor Information Centre. The timetable is available on the Visit Colchester website here.
CTGA members also provide Themed Tours providing insights into a wide variety of aspects of Colchester’s history. In 2017 these tours include Walking the Walls, The Essex Serpent, Town to Sea, Victorian Colchester, and Bloodcurdling Colchester. More information about these tours is available on the Visit Colchester website here.
The Visitor Information Centre is based in the Hollytrees Museum, which is next to Colchester Castle, and they are open 9-5 Monday-Saturday throughout the year. Contact them on 01206 282920, email them at firstname.lastname@example.org to book a place on one of these tours.
